Owina n'ido

The owina n'ido were the hereditary guild of weavers in the Benin Empire. Like the bronze-casters and ivory-carvers, they belonged to a system of royal craft guilds holding monopolies on particular luxury goods. These guilds produced chiefly for the Oba's court.
