Pago Pago
Pago Pago is the main town and harbour of American Samoa, on one of the finest natural harbours in the South Pacific, on the island of Tutuila. The United States acquired coaling rights there in 1878 and established a naval station in 1900, which administered the territory until 1951. Its economy depends on tuna canning and government services.
