Palici
The Palici were twin deities of the native Sicels of Sicily, worshipped at bubbling volcanic pools near modern Palagonia. Their sanctuary was a place for swearing solemn oaths, where perjurers were believed to be punished, and a refuge for runaway slaves. The Sicel leader Ducetius founded the town of Palike beside it in the 5th century BCE.
