Pau
Pau is a city on the Gave de Pau facing the Pyrenees, in south-western France, and the historic capital of Béarn. The viscounts moved their seat there in 1464, and its castle was the birthplace in 1553 of Henry III of Navarre, later Henry IV of France. In the 19th century it became a fashionable winter resort, especially for British visitors.
