Pátzcuaro
Pátzcuaro is a town in Michoacán, Mexico, near the southern shore of Lake Pátzcuaro. It was one of the early capitals of the Purépecha and a sacred site, and after the Spanish conquest Bishop Vasco de Quiroga made it the seat of the diocese of Michoacán in 1538 and promoted craft villages around the lake. Its colonial centre is well preserved.
