Péronne
Péronne is a town on the Somme in Picardy, northern France. Its castle was where Count Herbert II of Vermandois held King Charles the Simple prisoner until his death in 929, and where Louis XI was forced to agree the Treaty of Péronne with Charles the Bold in 1468. Heavily fought over in the First World War, it houses the Historial de la Grande Guerre museum.
