Persepolis Fortification Tablets

The Persepolis Fortification Tablets are a large archive of clay administrative tablets from the reign of Darius I, found at Persepolis. Most are written in Elamite and record the distribution of food and supplies to workers and officials. They show how Elamite administrative language and practice were absorbed into the Achaemenid state, a lasting legacy of the Elamite Confederation.
