Plaza de las Tres Culturas

Also known as Plaza of the Three Cultures

The Plaza de las Tres Culturas is a square in the Tlatelolco district of Mexico City, named for the three cultures represented around it: the ruins of the Aztec city of Tlatelolco, the colonial church of Santiago and modern buildings. On 2 October 1968 soldiers fired on student protesters there, killing dozens and possibly hundreds in the Tlatelolco massacre.
