Tlatelolco
Tlatelolco was a Mexica city adjacent to Tenochtitlan, founded on the same island in Lake Texcoco and later absorbed into it. It housed the greatest market of the Aztec world. Accounts of the Aztec Empire describe how tribute goods flowed into the Tlatelolco market, whose size and variety astonished the Spanish conqueror Bernal Díaz del Castillo.
