r. 1246–1279 · 13th century

Rajendra Chola III was the last king of the Chola dynasty, ruling from about 1246 to 1279. He tried to restore Chola power against the Kadava chief Kopperunchinga and the rising Pandyas, at times with Hoysala help, but was defeated by Jatavarman Sundara Pandya I. After 1279 he disappears from the record, and the Chola lands passed to the Pandyas.
