Rector's Palace, Dubrovnik

15th century · 15th century

The Rector's Palace in Dubrovnik was the seat of the government of the Republic of Ragusa and the residence of its Rector during his month in office. The present building, combining Gothic and Renaissance forms, was largely rebuilt after a gunpowder explosion and fire in 1435 and again after 1463. It housed the councils, offices and prison, and is now the Dubrovnik Museums' cultural-historical collection.
