Rites of Zhou

Also known as Zhouli

The Rites of Zhou is a Chinese classic describing an idealised government of the Western Zhou, with its officials arranged in six ministries. Probably compiled in the late Warring States period, it inspired reformers: Wang Mang tried to restore its institutions under the Xin dynasty, and Western Wei and Northern Zhou named their offices after it.
