Rufisque

Rufisque is a city on the Cap-Vert peninsula east of Dakar in Senegal. A Portuguese and then French trading post, it became the main port for groundnut exports in the late 19th century and in 1880 one of the Four Communes, whose inhabitants held French citizenship. It has since been absorbed into the Dakar metropolitan area.
