Saint Martin (island)
Saint Martin is an island in the north-eastern Caribbean, divided by the Treaty of Concordia of 1648 between a French northern part and a Dutch southern part, Sint Maarten. The French part was owned by the Knights Hospitaller from 1651 to 1665, together with Saint Kitts and other islands. Today the French side is an overseas collectivity and the Dutch side a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
