Salian Franks
The Salian Franks were the Frankish groups of the north-west, first recorded in Toxandria, in the present-day southern Netherlands, in the 4th century. In the 5th century their kings ruled from Tournai and Cambrai, and under Clovis I, king of the Salian Franks of Tournai, they united the Franks and conquered most of Gaul. Their law code, the Salic law, is named after them.
