Battle of Vouillé
The Battle of Vouillé was fought in 507 near Poitiers, in western France. Clovis I and his Franks defeated the Visigoths, whose king Alaric II was killed, according to Gregory of Tours by Clovis himself. The victory gave the Franks most of Aquitaine and pushed the Visigothic kingdom back to Septimania and Spain.
