Syagrius
Syagrius was the last Roman ruler in northern Gaul, governing the region around Soissons after the death of his father Aegidius in 464 or 465. Gregory of Tours calls him 'king of the Romans'. In 486 he was defeated near Soissons by the Frankish king Clovis I, fled to the Visigoths at Toulouse, and was handed back to Clovis and executed.
