Seomjin River

The Seomjin River is a river in south-western South Korea, about 220 km long, rising in North Jeolla and flowing south into the sea near Gwangyang. In the Three Kingdoms period its valley was contested between Baekje and the Gaya states, and its lower course gave access to the sea and to trade routes towards Japan.
