Sim'alites
The Sim'alites (Bin-Sim'al, 'sons of the left') were a confederation of Amorite pastoral tribes of the middle Euphrates and Khabur region in the early second millennium BCE. Zimri-Lim of Mari belonged to them, and their mobile herders, the Hana, formed a major part of his kingdom. Their relations with the rival Yaminites are a central theme of the Mari archives.
