Sisteron

Sisteron is a town in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department of France, at a narrow gap where the Durance cuts through the mountains between Provence and the Dauphiné. Its position made it a key fortress of the counts of Forcalquier and Provence, and its citadel was rebuilt in the 16th century. It also has a Romanesque former cathedral.
