St. Ursus Cathedral

1763–1773 · 18th century · Also known as Solothurn Cathedral

St. Ursus Cathedral in Solothurn, Switzerland, is a large early neoclassical church built between 1763 and 1773 to designs by the Ticinese architect Gaetano Matteo Pisoni. It replaced the medieval collegiate church over the shrine of the martyrs Ursus and Victor. Since 1828 it has been the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Basel.
