Sumana Thera
Sumana Thera was a Buddhist monk from Sukhothai who, at the invitation of King Kue Na, came to Chiang Mai in 1369. He established there a monastic ordination lineage derived from Sri Lanka, based at the new monastery of Wat Suan Dok, and tradition credits him with enshrining the relic of Doi Suthep.
