Supreme Court of Canada
The Supreme Court of Canada is the highest court of Canada, established in 1875 and sitting in Ottawa. Until 1949 its decisions could be appealed to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London; since then it has been the final court of appeal. Its nine judges interpret the constitution and, since 1982, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
