Taoism

Also known as Taoist

Taoism, or Daoism, is a Chinese philosophical and religious tradition centred on the Dao, or Way, and associated with texts such as the Daodejing. In the early Han Dynasty, Taoist-influenced ideas of minimal government shaped imperial policy. The Yellow Turban Rebellion of 184 CE was a millenarian Taoist movement that contributed to the dynasty's decline.
