Three Huan

Also known as Sanhuan

The Three Huan were the Jisun, Mengsun and Shusun, three ministerial families of the State of Lu descended from sons of Duke Huan of Lu. From the sixth century BCE they controlled most of Lu's land and armies, dividing the state's forces among themselves and reducing the dukes to figureheads. Confucius, who served in Lu, tried without success to curb their power by dismantling their fortified towns.
