Treaty of Kurekchay
The Treaty of Kurekchay was signed on 14 May 1805 between Ibrahim Khalil Khan of the Karabakh Khanate and the Russian commander Pavel Tsitsianov. The khan accepted Russian suzerainty, with his family keeping internal rule in return for tribute and a Russian garrison. Persia recognised Russian control of Karabakh in the Treaty of Gulistan of 1813, and the khanate was abolished in 1822.
