Trévoux

Trévoux is a small town on the Saône in the Ain department of eastern France, north of Lyon. It was the capital of the sovereign principality of Dombes, where the princes kept a mint, and its parliament moved there in 1696. Under the Duke of Maine the Jesuits printed the Journal de Trévoux and the Dictionnaire de Trévoux in the town. Dombes became part of France in 1762.
