Trogen
Trogen is a village in the Swiss half-canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden. Enriched by the textile trade of merchant families such as the Zellwegers, whose stately houses line its square, it shared government with Herisau and hosted the Landsgemeinde in alternate years. The cantonal court sits there, and the Pestalozzi Children's Village was founded nearby in 1946 for war orphans.
