Canton of Säntis
The Canton of Säntis was an administrative unit of the Helvetic Republic from 1798 to 1803, named after the Säntis mountain. It combined Appenzell, the city and abbey lands of St. Gallen, the Toggenburg and the Rhine valley, with St. Gallen as its capital. The Act of Mediation of 1803 dissolved it, restoring Appenzell and creating the Canton of St. Gallen.
