Tuoba Shiyijian
Tuoba Shiyijian was prince of Dai, the Tuoba Xianbei state in modern Inner Mongolia, from 338 to 376. Having spent years as a hostage at the Later Zhao court, he introduced officials, written laws and a more settled capital at Shengle. When Former Qin under Fu Jian invaded in 376, he died amid violence within his family and Dai was divided. His grandson Tuoba Gui later founded the Northern Wei.
