Uttaradit

Uttaradit is a town in northern Thailand on the Nan river and the capital of Uttaradit Province. The area was an important river port linking northern Thailand with the central plains. After the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767 the nearby town of Sawangkhaburi was the base of the monk-ruler Chao Phra Fang until King Taksin subdued him in 1770.
