Ayutthaya Kingdom

Also known as Ayutthaya

The Ayutthaya Kingdom was a Siamese state founded in 1351 in central Thailand. It expanded at the expense of the Khmer Empire and sacked Angkor in the fifteenth century. Its rise is closely associated with the Khmer Empire's decline and the shift of its centre southwards.
