9th century · 9th century · Also known as Ayyan Adikal Thiruvadikal

Ayyanadikal Thiruvadikal was the ruler of Venad in southern Kerala in the mid-ninth century, under the overlordship of the Chera Perumal king Sthanu Ravi. In the Tharisapalli copper plates of 849 he granted land, serfs and trading privileges to the Syrian Christian church of Tarisa at Kollam. The plates are among the earliest dated records of Kerala's history and of its Christian community.
