Ravi Varma Kulasekhara

r. 1299–1314 · 14th century · Also known as Ravivarman Kulasekhara

Ravi Varma Kulasekhara was a king of Venad in southern Kerala who ruled from Kollam from 1299 to 1314. Taking advantage of the decline of the Pandya kingdom after the raids of the Delhi Sultanate, he campaigned across southern India and was crowned at Kanchipuram. He was a patron of Sanskrit literature, and his conquests did not outlast him.
