Vadodara
Vadodara, formerly Baroda, is a city in Gujarat, western India, on the Vishwamitri river. From the 1720s it was the capital of the Maratha Gaekwad dynasty, whose Baroda State became one of the largest princely states of British India. Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III built the Laxmi Vilas Palace and promoted education, and the city's university bears his name.
