Vanua Balavu
Vanua Balavu is the largest island of the northern Lau group in eastern Fiji, a long, irregular island of limestone and volcanic rock with sheltered bays. In the 19th century its village of Lomaloma became the seat of the Tongan noble Enele Maʻafu and of the Tovata confederacy that he formed with Fijian chiefs in 1867.
