Vladivostok

Vladivostok is a Russian port city on the Sea of Japan, near the borders with China and North Korea. Founded in 1860 as a military outpost after Russia gained the territory from China, it became the Pacific terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the base of the Pacific Fleet. In the early 20th century it had a large Korean community that was active in the independence movement.
