Yamacraw
The Yamacraw were a small Native American band formed in the 1720s by Creek and Yamasee people under Tomochichi, living at Yamacraw Bluff on the Savannah River. Their friendship with James Oglethorpe allowed the English to found Savannah there in 1733. After Tomochichi's death in 1739 the band merged back into the Creek.
