Yaroslav's Court
Yaroslav's Court is a historic area on the Trade Side of Veliky Novgorod, named after the palace of Yaroslav the Wise that once stood there. In the time of the Novgorod Republic it was the site of the main market and of the veche, the citizens' assembly, summoned by a bell. Several medieval churches survive there, including the Cathedral of St Nicholas, founded in 1113.
