Yaxuná
Yaxuná is an ancient Maya site in the centre of the Yucatán peninsula, about 20 kilometres south of Chichén Itzá. Settled from the Preclassic period, it was linked to Cobá in the Classic period by a raised causeway (sacbe) about 100 kilometres long, one of the longest Maya roads. The causeway probably reflects Cobá's efforts to control central Yucatán against rival cities.
