Person
Youliu Chanyu
Youliu was chanyu of the Northern Xiongnu in the late 1st century CE. In 87 CE he was killed by Xianbei warriors, who took his skin as a trophy. His death threw the Northern Xiongnu into disorder, and the Han campaigns of 89–91 CE that followed broke their power and allowed the Xianbei to occupy the Mongolian steppe.
