Abu Ishaq Ibrahim I

d. 1283 · 13th century

Abu Ishaq Ibrahim I was Hafsid sultan of Ifriqiya from 1279 to 1283, a son of Abu Zakariya Yahya I and brother of al-Mustansir. With help from the Crown of Aragon he overthrew his nephew Yahya II al-Wathiq. He was driven from Tunis by the rebel Ibn Abi Umara, who claimed to be a Hafsid prince, and was killed in 1283; his son Abu Zakariya later founded the Hafsid emirate of Béjaïa.
