Person
Alaric I
Alaric I was a king of the Visigoths who led his people in conflicts with the Roman Empire in the late fourth and early fifth centuries. In 410 his forces sacked Rome, the first time the city had fallen to a foreign enemy in about eight centuries. The sack became a symbol of the decline of the Western Roman Empire.
