Amari Ngone Sobel Fall
Amari Ngone Sobel Fall was a ruler of Cayor, a Wolof state that had been a vassal of the Jolof Empire. Around 1549 his forces defeated the imperial army at the Battle of Danki. The victory effectively ended Jolof's dominance over the other Wolof states, which then became independent kingdoms.
