António Coelho Guerreiro

fl. 1702 · 18th century

António Coelho Guerreiro was a Portuguese administrator who arrived at Lifau in 1702 as the first governor appointed for Timor and Solor. His arrival marked the start of formal Portuguese government on the island, though authority there remained long contested by the Topasses, the local Portuguese-speaking mestizo community.
