Archidona
Archidona is a town in the province of Málaga in Andalusia, Spain, below a hill crowned by the remains of a Moorish fortress. Under the Nasrid Emirate of Granada it was an important frontier stronghold on the north-western approaches to Granada, and it fell to Castilian forces in 1462, the same year Gibraltar was lost. Its octagonal main square dates from the eighteenth century.
