Baardheere
Baardheere, also written Bardera, is a town on the Jubba river in southern Somalia. In 1819 a community of militant religious reformers founded a settlement there that tried to impose strict Islamic practice on the surrounding region and fought neighbouring powers. In 1843 Sultan Yusuf Mahamud Ibrahim of the Geledi led a large coalition that destroyed the Bardera community.
