Banu Munabbih
The Banu Munabbih were an Arab family claiming Qurayshi descent who ruled Multan, in present-day Pakistan, as an autonomous emirate from the mid-9th century, while recognising the Abbasid caliph. Arab geographers such as al-Mas'udi describe their city and its famous Sun temple, whose wealth supported the state. Their rule ended in the 10th century, when Ismaili missionaries of the Fatimids won over Multan.
