Barbuda
Barbuda is a flat coral island in the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean, about 45 kilometres north of Antigua. From 1685 it was leased to the Codrington family, who used it to raise food and livestock for their Antigua plantations, and it was annexed to Antigua in 1860. It became part of independent Antigua and Barbuda in 1981, and Hurricane Irma devastated it in 2017.
