Battle of Conquereuil

992 · 10th century

The Battle of Conquereuil was fought in 992 near Conquereuil in eastern Brittany, north of Nantes, between Conan I of Rennes, who claimed the rule of all Brittany, and Fulk Nerra, Count of Anjou, protector of the counts of Nantes. Conan was killed and his army defeated, which checked the power of the house of Rennes and confirmed Angevin influence over Nantes.
